Revitalization of the hillock near the Kozí Hrádek ruins in Mikulov

Description

By revitalizing the hillside beneath the Kozí Hrádek ruins, the town of Mikulov not only resolved long-standing issues with water runoff affecting the streets below but also created new paths, viewpoints, and rest areas. The hillside also underwent extensive landscaping and greenery restoration.

Public restrooms and sanitary facilities for both locals and tourists were built in an adjacent section of the hillside. The facilities have been integrated into the surrounding landscape with great sensitivity, ensuring they do not disrupt the visual character of the area.

Access to the restrooms is managed via a payment kiosk. The facilities feature stainless steel fixtures—a so-called “anti-vandal” system—offering superior durability and a longer service life. Barrier-free access is available for people with limited mobility, and the facility includes a restroom equipped with a baby-changing station for parents.
