Description
Rokycany is a town in the Rokycany District of the Plzeň Region. It lies sixteen kilometers east of Plzeň at the confluence of the Klabava River and the Holoubkovský Stream. The town is situated in the Rokycany Basin—a northeastern peripheral area of the Švihov Highlands—at the foot of a spur of the Brdy range, featuring the hills of Žďár, Čilina, Kotel, and Vršíček. The main Prague–Plzeň railway line runs through the town, while the D5 motorway (connecting Prague, Plzeň, and Rozvadov) passes just to the north. It has a population of approximately 14,000.
